Benefits of Pregnancy Massage

  • Relieves back and leg pain
  • Reduces swelling and water retention
  • Improves sleep quality and well-being
  • Promotes relaxation and connection with baby

What to Expect from a Session

Your safety and wellbeing come first. The pregnancy massage is performed exclusively in a comfortable side-lying position, I use special positioning cushions that optimally support your belly, back, and legs. This allows you to fully relax without any pressure on your abdomen.

The techniques are gentle and flowing, with special focus on typical problem areas during pregnancy: lower back, hips, swollen legs, and tense shoulders. The pressure is noticeably lighter than a classical massage. No pressure points that could trigger contractions are stimulated. The massage is safe from the second trimester onwards.

I exclusively use natural, fragrance-free oils without essential additives, safe for you and your baby. All products are dermatologically tested and hypoallergenic. Please inform me about any special sensitivities or complications.

Most expectant mothers report immediate relief from back pain and swollen legs. Sleep often improves after just the first session. Regular massages in the third trimester can make the overall pregnancy experience noticeably more comfortable.

Who is Pregnancy Massage for?

For expectant mothers from the second trimester onwards. Helps with typical pregnancy complaints such as back pain, swollen legs, and sleep problems. Please consult your doctor first if you have a high-risk pregnancy.

How often should you get Pregnancy Massage?

In the second trimester: every 2-3 weeks. In the third trimester: weekly if desired. The massage is individually adapted to the respective stage of pregnancy.

Before and after tips

Let me know which week of pregnancy you are in. Eat a light snack before the massage. I use special cushions for optimal comfort in the side-lying position. Rest after the massage.

When to avoid Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy massage is safe from the second trimester. However, it is not recommended in these cases:

  • First trimester (up to week 12)
  • High-risk pregnancy or doctor-ordered bed rest
  • Premature contractions or bleeding
  • Pre-eclampsia or pregnancy-related high blood pressure
  • Placenta praevia or other placental complications
  • Fever, infections, or acute illness

Always discuss massage with your gynaecologist or midwife, especially with complications. Bring medical clearance if unsure.

In my third trimester, I could barely sleep because of back pain. After the pregnancy massage with Oleg, I finally slept through the night again. So gentle and caring!

As a midwife, I recommend Oleg to my patients. He knows the anatomy well, works safely and his patients feel completely comfortable. Mobile massage is ideal for pregnant women.

Frequently Asked Questions about Pregnancy Massage

From which week of pregnancy is massage safe? +
From the second trimester (week 13). In the first trimester, the risk of complications is elevated, so I recommend starting from week 13. In the third trimester up to shortly before the due date, massage is particularly beneficial.
In which position is the massage performed? +
Exclusively in a comfortable side-lying position. I use special positioning cushions for belly, back, and legs. Lying on your stomach is neither necessary nor possible. Side-lying is the safest and most comfortable position.
Which oils do you use? +
Exclusively natural, fragrance-free oils without essential additives. Essential oils like rosemary, peppermint, or sage are deliberately avoided during pregnancy. All products are dermatologically tested.
Can the massage trigger contractions? +
No. I deliberately avoid all pressure points and techniques associated with triggering contractions (e.g., certain points on ankles and hands). The techniques used are gentle and safe.
Does the massage help with swollen legs? +
Yes, very effectively. Gentle massage techniques and lymphatic drainage can significantly reduce swelling in legs and feet. Many pregnant women report immediate relief after a session.
Can my partner be present during the massage? +
Of course. Your partner is very welcome. On request, I also show simple massage techniques your partner can use at home, especially for the lower back.
