Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is a classic therapeutic treatment aimed at deep relaxation, recovery, and harmonizing the body. Gentle, rhythmic techniques combined with deeper pressure help release accumulated tension, improve circulation, and restore the body's natural state of balance.

Benefits of Swedish Massage

  • Deep relaxation of muscles and nervous system
  • Improved blood circulation and tissue nourishment
  • Reduced stress and inner tension levels
  • Improved sleep quality and overall well-being

What to Expect from a Session

The session begins with a brief discussion of your current concerns and preferences. I then work with the five classic Swedish massage techniques: effleurage (gentle stroking), petrissage (kneading), friction, tapotement (tapping), and vibration. The treatment follows a proven sequence, from the back through the legs to the arms and neck.

The pressure is individually adjusted to your sensitivity. Most clients find the massage pleasantly relaxing with a soothing deep effect. After the session, you'll feel light and released. Mild muscle soreness the next day is possible but rare, Swedish massage is gentler than sports massage.

I use high-quality, natural massage oils without artificial fragrances. For sensitive skin or allergies, I adjust the products accordingly. I bring my professional massage table, you only need to prepare two large towels.

Many clients notice a clear improvement in tension and sleep quality after just the first session. For lasting results with chronic issues, I recommend a cycle of 4-6 sessions.

Who is Swedish Massage for?

Ideal for people with stressful lifestyles, sedentary office work, or chronic tension. Especially recommended for those seeking regular body care and recovery. Also perfect as an introduction for massage beginners.

How often should you get Swedish Massage?

For optimal results, I recommend 1-2 sessions per week over 4-6 weeks. For maintenance, one session every 2-4 weeks is sufficient. For acute issues, a more intensive frequency may be beneficial.

Before and after tips

Drink plenty of water before your massage. Avoid heavy meals at least one hour before. After the massage: rest for 10-15 minutes, drink plenty of water, and avoid intensive physical activity for the rest of the day.

When to avoid Swedish Massage

  • Open wounds, skin rashes, or fresh scars in the treatment area
  • Severe cardiovascular diseases or uncontrolled high blood pressure
  • Thrombosis or increased risk of blood clots
  • Recent surgeries or bone fractures
  • Malignant tumours in the treatment area

When in doubt, please consult your doctor. Inform me before treatment about any existing conditions or medications.

What our clients say

"

The Swedish massage with Oleg was a completely different experience than at a studio. Being at home, I could relax immediately afterwards and the effect lasted much longer. I've been sleeping noticeably better since.

Frequently Asked Questions about Swedish Massage

What's the difference between Swedish and Classical massage? +
Swedish massage uses five specific techniques in a set sequence and focuses particularly on relaxation. Classical massage is more flexible in technique choice and can target individual problem areas more specifically.
Do I need to undress completely? +
No. You can keep your underwear on. During the massage, only the area being treated is uncovered. Your comfort and privacy are top priority.
How long does the effect last? +
The relaxation typically lasts 3-7 days. With regular sessions, every 1-2 weeks, a cumulative effect builds up that permanently reduces tension and improves wellbeing.
Can I exercise after the massage? +
I recommend avoiding intensive physical activity for 24 hours after the massage. Light movement like walking is beneficial and supports the effect.
Is Swedish massage painful? +
No, Swedish massage is one of the gentlest massage types. The pressure is adjusted to your sensitivity. If anything feels uncomfortable, let me know at any time.
Why is Oleg Swiss champion in Swedish massage? +
I won 1st place at the 5th Swiss Massage Championship 2026 in the Swedish Massage category. This competition evaluates technique, rhythm, pressure control, and overall quality, confirming the highest professional level.
